By placing these offerings on the pages of calendars, they are able to get them in front of people in both residential and commercial settings. Designing a Calendar for a Great General Insurance Brand
As a visual and illustrative branding agency, calendar designing is one of the many forms we create art in. A brilliant calendar designing opportunity knocked on our door in 2018. The folks over at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance invited us to design their promotional calendar for 2019.
The task was significant and huge. The deadline, a bit tight. And in front of us was one of the finest general insurance providers of India.
And at our hands was the task of designing the calendar that would adorn many desks at several HDFC Bank branches across India.
Making The Calendar Come Alive
One of the decisive questions encountered while working on custom calendars is: what should my frame’s composition by like. And sadly, many choose to keep the dates section prominent, while the art goes into the foreground.
Our approach to the calendar design was to allocate 80% of the available area for artwork and 20% for the actual calendar. This turned out to be a great decision in aesthetical and practical terms because:
- It gave us a significant area to integrate the promotional artwork.
- For calendars that are at an arm’s length from the user, 20% area allocation is enough to achieve the necessary visibility and readability.
The second important decision was to determine what kind of artwork should go into the calendar. For this, the expertise and prior experiences of our Chief Storyteller Mr. Sandip Shah played a pivotal role. He has previously worked in key positions in several prestigious finance and insurance-related companies. With his insights, we adopted many key product offerings of Bajaj Allianz as inspiration for our artwork.
The very first page of the calendar highlights how Bajaj Allianz provides 360-degree protection through its products. And then, every new page talks about one or the other products of Bajaj Allianz. And of course, the respective month and its dates.
Mr. Sandip’s insights and expertise helped us fuse our creativity with a clear understanding of the insurance domain. This resulted in some beautiful artwork that encapsulates the all round protection Bajaj Allianz offers to its clients and users. The message was communicated in a clear, concise, and visual manner. The manner most of us relate the best with.
